Largest of the forktail catfish
How To Identify: 
Typical Catfish, with whiskers around the mouth. A forked tail, it is a reddish brown on top and white below on the lower sides and belly. It is the biggest of the catfish and can grow to an impressive 1.15 m and weigh over 15 kgs
How To Catch: 
Mainly caught chasing other species and will readily take any sort of fish bait, prawns, even squid intended for other species. Will sometime take lures intended for other species like Barramundi
Where Found: 
Found mostly in the tropics it ranges from central Queensland (occasionally as low as Brisbane) through the Northern Territory to North West Western Australia
